OUR MATERIALS

Sustainable and responsibly sourced metals and gemstones are the cornerstone of our commitment to minimizing our environmental footprint. We prioritize quality, durability, and longevity when carefully selecting our materials from our trusted suppliers.

GOLD FILLED
Gold filled is created by heat- and pressure-bonding a genuine layer of 14k gold to a base metal core, such as jeweler’s brass, offering exceptional durability and a radiant finish. For a jewelry piece to be considered as gold filled, 1/20 of its weight (5%) needs to be made from real gold. Unlike traditional plating, the gold layer is much thicker, making it resistant to tarnish and built to last for years with proper care.

Care
The best way to promote gold filled jewelry’s longevity and the quality of its appearance is to always remove it before exercising, showering, or swimming in the ocean or chlorinated pools. Occasionally clean them with warm soapy water and dry them thoroughly with a non- scratch cotton cloth. Also, gently wipe your gold filled piece with a jewelry polishing cloth regularly to promote shine.

WHY GOLD FILLED JEWELRY?
There are a few reasons why gold filled jewelry is our go-to!

Wearability: Unlike gold plated jewelry, our gold filled pieces are hypoallergenic and nickel- free, making it a good choice for people with sensitive skin or metal allergies. Gold-filled jewelry is waterproof and tarnish resistant, so it will remain bright with minimal care and it’s perfect for everyday wear.

Durability: One of the key advantages of gold filled jewelry is its longevity. With proper care, gold filled jewelry can last anywhere from 10 to 30 years. With its thick layer of gold bonded to the base metal core, it is durable, resistant to tarnish, and maintains its shine over time. Because of the difference in gold content, gold filled jewelry is significantly more expensive than gold plated jewelry.

Quality: We prefer using gold filled because it has an actual layer of karat gold, not just a microscopic film. The layer of gold on gold filled jewelry is 5 to 10 times thicker than that produced by regular gold plating, thanks to its manufacturing method. To put it simply, gold filled is in between solid gold and gold plated metals. There is also variation in the makeup of gold filled jewelry, with the pieces we offer made of 14k yellow gold filled.

Affordable: Gold filled jewelry is perfect if you're looking for a material that is higher quality than gold plated, but an affordable alternative to solid gold. Adding a few gold filled staples to your collection is a cost-effective way to achieve the luxurious look and feel of gold without the premium price tag.

Sustainability: One of the key reasons gold filled jewelry is considered sustainable is due to its ability to extend the life cycle of gold, reducing carbon footprints, and offering affordability and durability. By using a smaller amount of gold in the manufacturing process, gold filled jewelry makes efficient use of this precious metal. In addition, gold filled scrap can be easily recycled and we make sure that happens. Furthermore, we hope that by creating pieces that last, we can keep trendy fast fashion pieces from ending up in the landfill.

STERLING SILVER
Sterling silver is a high-quality metal made up of 92.5% pure silver and 7.5% alloy metals such as copper and zinc. The addition of other metals strengthens the silver, making it more durable with the ability to withstand daily wear. Pure silver is 99% pure silver metal and unfortunately is not hard enough to be suitable for a jewelry metal.

Care
Sterling silver will naturally oxidize over time when exposed to oxygen. To slow this process, store your jewelry in an airtight baggie. Use a silver polishing cloth to wipe any oxidation and help maintain its shine.

14K GOLD
The ultimate luxury material, gold is a rare precious metal that does not oxidize or discolor so it’s perfect for daily wear. Our 14K gold is made of 58.3% pure gold and 41.7% alloy metals, including silver, copper and zinc, to make a beautiful soft shade of gold and for durability and strength. When properly cared for, our 14k yellow gold pieces are designed to last a lifetime.

Care
To keep your pieces looking their best, occasionally clean them with warm soapy water, dry them thoroughly with a non-scratch cotton cloth, or wipe with a gold polishing cloth for added shine.

18K GOLD
18k gold is a high-purity gold with a rich color and high luster. With 75% pure gold and 25% alloyed metals, 18k gold is softer than 14k gold. However, it is also generally more expensive than 14k gold due to its higher gold content. We mostly use 18k gold for making stone mountings, as its softness is more suitable for bending and shaping bezel settings.

Care
18k gold is durable and tarnish-resistant, but it can lose its luster over time. To keep it looking shiny, you can clean it with warm water and mild dish soap, and store it in a cool, dry place.

GOLD VERMEIL
Different from regular gold plating, gold vermeil is a 2.5 micron thick layer of 18k solid gold electroplated over sterling silver, as required by the Federal Trade Commission to classify as vermeil. For comparison, it’s about 28 times thinner than a strand of human hair, which is incredibly fine. High-quality gold vermeil jewelry will usually be stamped with the marking “925” somewhere on the piece because the base is made from sterling silver.

Care
To keep gold vermeil from tarnishing, remove it before swimming, showering, or applying lotions/perfumes. Store it in a dry, airtight plastic bag, and regularly wipe it down with a soft, clean cloth to remove dirt and oils that can accelerate tarnishing. If needed, gently clean with a tiny amount of mild dish soap and warm water, then dry thoroughly with a soft cloth.

GEMSTONES
We use an array of real gemstones that are highly valued for its quality, beauty and longevity. Due to its natural origin, gemstones may vary slightly in size, shape or color. We believe these subtle variations encapsulate the beauty of these naturally occurring components. We love using natural gemstones to add a pop of color in our jewelry designs. We also use high-quality czech glass beads, cubic zirconia and lab grown diamonds, such as moissanite, to add shine and sparkle in our designs.

Care
Clean natural gemstones with a mixture of warm water and a mild dish soap, using a soft cloth to gently wipe and dry; and avoid harsh chemicals or extreme temperature changes.

PEARLS
We use mainly cultured pearls, including freshwater and Keshi pearls, that come in a variety of shapes, sizes and colors. These pearls are harvested in ponds, lakes and rivers using smaller oysters. You may notice variations in color, shape and luster, which is entirely normal and reflects the unique characteristics of each element. Known for their high luster and organic shapes, Keshi pearls are irregularly shaped pearls that forms naturally during pearl cultivation. The word "keshi" is Japanese for "poppy seed” all natural pearls formed by layers of nacre, with no nucleus placed in the shell.

Care
Gently clean with a soft moist cloth and avoid exposure to water and harsh chemicals.
